I topped off the tank with salt water this afternoon. I was dismayed to see that as I emptied the jug of water that a fine residue of salt sprinkled over the algae-covered rock, like a fine dusting of powdered sugar. Tested specific gravity later. 1.023 with Red Sea hydrometer and 1.024 with Deep Six Hydrometer. Not bad.
