I topped off the tank today with some of the salt water that was left from the last batch. The idea is to slowly raise the salinity. I didn’t measure the s.g., but it probably isn’t up much from what little I added. I’ve started a new batch of salt water aerating. I used even more salt than usual, since it seems like less dissolves each time. Also, there was a very small amount of salt water left in the jug I used. If the s.g. for this batch is through the roof, I can back it down by adding distilled water more easily than I can increase it (which would entail another day bubbling away on the counter for each addition of salt).

I do look at the little tank more now that it’s in the dining room, but it’s in sort of an out of the way place on the window seat. It’s behind a chair, actually, so it’s still not as accessible and visible as it should ideally be.
