First thing this morning I look at the tank and there’s Elle! She has already regrown a short crown and extended it for feeding! Apparently whatever caused her to shed her crown isn’t indicative of a problem that’s going to cause her immediate death. (I still guiltily suspect it was my Ph adjustment which was maybe too quick, though Elle’s counterpart, Belle, showed no signs of distress.) She shed her crown exactly two weeks today. This is a quick recovery (at least I think so; this is a first for me so I have nothing to compare to). I’m so relieved!

She withdrew into her tube after I’d snapped a few blurry pics, but now that she’s regrown a short crown and been out I’m sure she’ll be out again later.

I am soooooo happy!!!! I was just sick at heart at the prospect of losing her just 6-7 months after I got the featherdusters. This has gotten the day and the weekend off to a great start!
